The aims of the Society are to provide a social forum for the Harting community and to encourage an appreciation of the local environment, its heritage and its history.
There is an annual programme of talks covering a wide range of interests during the months of October to April, and occasional outings to places of interest during the summer months.
All meetings are held in the Village Hall, South Harting at 7.30 pm and the bar is open from 7.00. The annual subscription for members is £8, or £12 for joint membership. Visitors are most welcome and invited to contribute £3 per head.

'The River Rother and a
Nature-friendly Future'
Presented by Philip Lymbery
Philip Lymbery is Global Chief
Executive of the international farmed animal welfare environmental
organisation, Compassion in World Farming, and
is a founding Board member of the World Federation for Animals, a global animal protection movement.
He writes and speaks internationally on animal ethics and the global effects of
industrial agriculture (factory farming), including its impact on animal
welfare, wildlife, soil and natural resources,
biodiversity and climate change. He will talk about what the River Rother and its wildlife can tell us about food, farming and climate.
